Episode 20 -Living Like He Is Who He Says He Is

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want ...

The secret of living a life with no want is rooted in our knowledge of God.

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. -Colossians 2: 2-3

“First of all, my child, think magnificently of God. Magnify His providence; adore His power, pray to Him frequently and incessantly. Bear Him always in your mind. Teach your thoughts to reverence Him in every place for there is no place where He is not. Therefore, my child, fear and worship and love God; first and last, think magnificently of Him! —PATERNUS, ADVICE TO A SON”

The idea of living a life without want is not one we can easily receive into the operating system of our lives. Why is this? Perhaps because we know so much about God but have not truly come to know Him,.

How often do you meditate on who God is, wonder about his nature, ask Him to reveal his heart to you? .

Are you managing God or are you drawing ever closer to him.

Is your knowledge of Him creating in you a growing understanding of his inestimable greatness and abundant generosity.

If we can allow our minds to want Him as He says that He is … generous, loving,, joyous, all-sufficient, unchanging, mighty, so far beyond us yet ever reaching out to us, never failing … then just maybe we can live a life that rests in his provision and does not live in fear.

The video shared with you today is a clip from my a recent in-person Class I taught on the 4th chapter of Ruth. It is fitting for today’s topic.

Journaling questions and thought prompts will often be offered in the VLOG or in posts on the Flourish FB group page.
